Wines

Château La Roberterie offers a range of red wines, with three different profiles.

  • Classicus is a medium bodied, fruit forward red wine that is easy to love and enjoy every day. Classicus has aromas of red fruits, currant and floral notes of violets.

  • Selectus offers more density in the mouth and exudes deep aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, red fruits and vanilla notes due to the contribution of French oak barrels during aging.

  • Primus is the Flagship cuvée of La Roberterie. It comes from the oldest parcels of the property, harvested manually. A wine for great occasions, Primus is the purest expression of Merlot on clay-limestone soil. Its fruitiness is enriched with characteristic truffle and menthol notes. It’s smoky character results from 24-month ageing in all French oak barrels.

In a good year our 10 hectares of red varietals (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec) yield approximately 450 hectoliters of finished wine (60,000 bottles).

Primus accounts for about 10% of the volume (6,000 bottles). Selectus and Classicus together absorb about 80% of the red volume. The allotment between the two depends on quality from the different plots and blending preferences (Total of 48,000 bottles).

The 0.9 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc yield approximately 45 hectoliters of finished wine (6,000 bottles).
