All conditions were perfect to make 2015 a great vintage. It started with a rainy winter, allowing water supply to replenish. Then, spring was quite warm and dry, perfect for flowering. Finally, a dry and sunny summer led to an optimal ripeness.
Harvested in early-October 2015. Macerated in cold settings before a 15-day fermentation at 25°C, followed by malolactic fermentation. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels (30% new).
Selectus 2015 has a deep ruby color, which preludes its tart cherry and ripe fruit aromas, enhanced by chocolate and licorice notes. Woody tastes meld into a round and rich palate, full of tenderness.
